On excessive fines charged by the police:
“A communication was presented from Mrs. G.D. Powell, complaining that the bill sent in by the Captain of Police for cleaning up her lot was excessive. Referred to the Committee on Appeals and Grievances.”
On Burning of sheets:
“Bill of E.D. Weese for bedding inc. burned was presented but consideration of the same was deferred until all bills of a similar nature could be gotten in.”
On the Mayor’s attempt to obtain loans to pay city finances:
“The president stated that in regard to negotiating a loan of $12,000, he was now in communication with various moneyed institutions but had as yet received no definite replies.”
On a report from the standing committee on Streets and Alleys:
“From the Committee on Streets and Alleys: Recommending that the opening of various streets and avenues in 2nd ward, as petitioned for by residents, be deferred for the present on account of want of funds. In regard to the opening of a street between Tampa and Ybor City further time was asked for. Adopted.”
