Description
(Transcription) “It was announced that on account of the illness of the City Physician he would not be able for the present to comply with the request of the Committee for a report as to the sanitary condition, of the city.”
“On motion of Councilman Brigham, a committee of three, to be known as the Committee on poor, as a standing committee of the Council, was appointed, the chairmen of such committee to be its executive officer and Poor Master, the duties of such committee being to look after the indigent sick and to supply such with medicines, funds, etc. at the city’s expense upon bills approved by the Poor Master. The chairman appointed on that committee Councilman Giddens, Chairmen Brigham and Meyer."
“The mayor was authorized and requested to have the streets cleaned of weeds and rubbish immediately and to employ a sufficient force for this purpose on the best possible terms.”
“On motion the Chairman was authorized to negotiate another loan of $500.00 to be used for sanitary and poor purposes”
