Description
Flowers in a Basket is a woodblock print created in 1981 by Virginia Barnes, an American printmaker, painter and professor. Barnes received her M.A. at Columbia University and was a faculty member in the Art Department at the University of Montevallo for almost thirty years.
The print depicts an explosion of white flowers on a blue background. The center flowers have yellow centers with white dots and the surrounding flowers have blue centers with white dots. The background is a darker shade of blue. The basket is situated underneath the flowers and almost blends into the varying shades of blue background. This print of Flowers in a Basket is 4/50 in the series and is matted, framed and signed by the artist.
