Description
This letter written in 1929 about Alabama College’s first dairy had been around for about 20 years at this point, but it had not been updated since it was first built. The letter is written by a building coordinator pleading with the board of trustees of Alabama College to build a new dairy and advising them on other building projects.
The letter states exactly how much it would cost to repair the current dairy. The building coordinator starts by asking Alabama College to build a new dairy instead of making the repairs. At this time, the dairy was growing quickly. The building coordinator also states that if the cows stayed in the present location, it would be impossible to erect the new dormitory. Lastly, the letter states that were the cows moved from their current field, that field could be used as an athletic field.
