Description

Peterson Hall, originally built as an infirmary, was named for the university’s second president, Dr. Francis Marion Peterson. Construction for the building began in May 1913, and it was ready to house patients less than a year later in April 1914. Previously, injured or ill students were housed on the second floor of Main Hall, and later in Nabors Hall, which is now called King House. Peterson Hall is two stories tall, with two-story porches in the front and rear of the building. Up through 1987, it housed the Health and Counseling Centers. After renovations it was reopened in 2014 as a part of the Art Department.
