Description

This photograph taken of Dolores “Dolly” White in October of 2007 showcases yet another accomplishment in her life, a softball field dedicated to her at Henderson State University. After retiring from her baseball career, Dolly began to work at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas beginning in 1963. Her duties were various. She taught physical education as well as recreational classes. She coached a swim team from 1963-1982. Dolly remained a professor at Henderson State until 1994 when she retired and was honored with the title professor emeritus. Dolly would continue to contribute to the University when in the late 90’s there was a decision to add a women’s softball team, in which she helped organize the “Diamond Reddies” which was the softball team’s booster club. On October 13, 2007 Dolly was honored by seeing the Henderson State University softball field renamed as the “Dr. Delores ‘Dolly’ Brumsfield-White Softball Field” in a dedication ceremony.
