Description

Jimmie Fox was born 10/22/07 in Sudlersville, Maryland. He threw right handed and batted right handed. He hit 534 home runs during his time in the league making him only the second player in major league history to hit over 500 home runs. Jimmy Foxx was also the recipient of 3 MVP awards. He also served as a manager in the AAGBL. Foxx led the Fort Wayne Daisies to the playoffs in 1952. Dolly played infield and outfield for the Ft. Wayne Daisies in 1952 and 1953 belting 3 home runs. One of these home run balls is signed by Jimmy Foxx and part of this collection. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1951. Tom Hanks' character in "A League of Their Own" is based on Jimmie Foxx.
