HS: I went to Boaz High School, a very rural school, very few people went to college
Hear about UM?: I was watching YouTube and an ad for the school showed up on my phone
UM First Choice: Originally my first choice was going to be Alabama, but the school was too big.
Declared Major: I came in as a English Major
Why did you come to UM: I loved the campus, the bricks really helped the flow of the campus.
What was the final factor: I came for Spring Preview and I loved it!
Any Fears: I didn't know if I could live on my own
Dates: I came on campus August 2015
First Day on Campus: I was focused on making new friends and no falling
Classes: I really enjoyed Mr. Beal Social Work class
Any Clubs: I am apart of Spectrum and URGE
PV or GV: GV and I'm extremely ecstatic right now
Where do you live?: I live off-campus with my girlfriend
What are you looking forward to in the future?: Graduating and going to graduate school
MN: As realized a few things with the interviews. First of all, I need to start asking more hard-hitting questions, and second of all, people seem to respond better if you ask them deeper and more developing questions. That was the case today, when the questions were hard hitting, and they touched into a part of the college experience that they weren't expecting, the answers were deeper, and I could get more material out with them
TN: The interview was one of my better ones, I quite enjoyed it the interview in its entirely, but there were point during the interview that it was clearly lacking. I wish I had more interesting questions in there about before they got to Montevallo, as that is where I'm having the most issues when it comes to the before Montevallo questions, as most people don't see to enjoy those as much, I'm hoping to find out why.
PN: So this interview took place at 11am on Thursday, so I was a little bit exhausted when it came to my physical health. This interview also took place at a Taco Bell, in which a young child was very talkative and was inquiring about why I was interview this person. It was a nice exchange, but it certainly set the interview astray. `
SN: She is from Boaz High School, which is a small high school in Boaz, Alabama in which not many people go to college. She heard about Montevallo through watching YouTube and she researched about the school. She went into school as a English major, but she then changed over to social work major. She wanted to go to Alabama, but the school was too big for her, especially during college night. She came to campus August 2015 and she had a good first day here. She really enjoyed Dr. Newell social work class. She is involved in college night and she's a GV. She used to live in Brooke, but now she lives off-campus with her girlfriend. She is excited for the future in graduating and starting her career.
