Delores "Dolly" Brumfield White's Inaugural Softball Jersey

On the night of February 8, 2014 the University of Montevallo held a commencement ceremony during halftime of the University’s men’s basketball game. During this ceremony Delores “Dolly” Brumfield(White) was presented with a jersey to honor her as a honorary member of the University’s inaugural softball team coached by Lindsey Vanover. Unfortunately national athletic associations did not sanction women’s sports while Dolly attended the University(graduated in 1954). Thus , she was never able to represent the University on a competitive level. The manner in which the University honored was befitting of her accomplishments.
